WELCOME! The Blue Wave Swim Team is a competitive swimming league offered by the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA for training, instruction and competition for young people.

This program is in place not only to make successful swimmers, but also to promote improved physical conditioning, camaraderie, sportsmanship and self discipline. The goal of the program is to develop the life-long appreciation for the sport of competitive swimming while modeling and teaching YMCA/YWCA values and characters that young people will implement into all facets of their lives.

Team Philosophy: Anyone who is a part of the Blue Wave swim team is considered a champion before we start practice sessions or competitions. Swimmers will celebrate the goals and mission of the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA through teamwork and sportsmanship. Our emphasis is based on enjoyment of swimming and progression towards personal goals whether learning or perfecting the sport of competitive swimming. All who are involved in the coordination of this swim league - administration, aquatics staff, swim team parent group, coaches, volunteers - pledge to make this an experience that will positively shape a child.

Families are highly encouraged to become involved with Blue Wave Swim Team activities whether as a spectator or as a volunteer. Involvement at any level is meaningful to the child, healthy for each family, and helps the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA accomplish its mission.
